Welcome to AI Playground. We value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our desktop application and website.

The core of AI Playground is designed to operate locally on your machine. We intentionally minimize data collection. However, to operate the website and app effectively, we may collect the following:

  • Local App Data: All your API keys, prompts, responses, conversation history, and settings are stored locally in an SQLite database on your own device. We do not transmit or store this data on our servers.
  • Usage Analytics (App): We may collect anonymized, non-personally identifiable usage data (such as app version, OS platform, and feature usage) to help us improve the software. This data cannot be traced back to your individual prompts or keys.
  • Website Analytics: When you visit our website, we use Matomo analytics to collect standard aggregated information such as your IP address (anonymized), browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site.

2. Third-Party API Providers

When you use the app to connect to third-party AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Runware, etc.), your prompts and relevant data are transmitted directly from your machine to their respective APIs. Those interactions are governed by the privacy policies of those specific providers. We encourage you to review their policies.

3. How We Use Information

The minimal data we do collect is used strictly for:

  • Monitoring and analyzing usage trends to improve the app.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues and bugs.

4. Data Security

Because your sensitive data (API keys, chats) lives on your own device, it is secured by your operating system's built-in file protections. We strongly advise you to implement full-disk encryption and secure your device to protect this data.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will notify users of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date on this page or through the app's release notes.
